MEET THE TEAM

At Concord Sports Medicine we are proud of the team of clinicians who have many years of
experience in private practice treating musculoskeletal conditions and sports injuries to the
general public as well as elite and recreational athletes. We aim to ensure you get fit and
strong and to be able return to your normal activities.

Luke Rigney

Luke has been a Sports Physiotherapist for over 20 years. He has presented at various sports medicine conferences and has had articles published in various medical journals. Luke played over 100 games of 1st Grade at West Harbour Rugby Union Club and has a deep passion for both rugby league and rugby union. He enjoys treating a variety of musculoskeletal disorders.

Luke has experience working in a variety of different sports codes and all levels including:

  • Australian & NSW Rugby Union

  • Greater Sydney Rams (National Rugby Championship)

  • Touring Sri Lankan Cricket Team

  • FIFA Soccer World Stars & Ollyroo's

  • Perth Wildcats (National Basketball League)

He is currently one of the Team Physiotherapists at West Harbour Rugby Union in the Sydney Shute Shield Competition

Nirm graduated with a Masters of Physiotherapy in 2009. His sports of interest are cricket and rugby union and played Grade Cricket in Sydney for over 10 years. He has a keen interest in treating sports injuries and exercise based rehabilitation. 

Nirm has worked at the highest levels of elite sport including:

  • Sri Lankan Cricket Team

  • Cricket NSW

  • Desert Vipers (ILT20 - Dubai / UAE)

  • Rangpur Riders (Bangladesh Premier League)

  • Montreal Tigers (Global T20 - Canada)

  • Sydney Thunder

  • NSW Waratahs

  • Greater Sydney Rams (National Rugby Championship)

He is currently the Head of Medical at West Harbour Rugby Union in the Shute Shield Competition and continues to work as a contractor for Cricket NSW and various T20 Cricket franchises on the global T20 cricket circuit.

Hugh Donaldson
Physiotherapist

Hugh graduated with a Masters of Physiotherapy in 2017. His passion for physiotherapy stems from his own sports background in swimming, water polo and rugby union. Hugh has a keen interest in injury rehabilitation and prevention.

Hugh has a wide scope of sports experience including:

  • Sydney Uni Water Polo

  • Auckland Blues Touring Side

  • NSW Football

  • City to Surf

He is currently one of the Team Physiotherapists for West Harbour in the Sydney Shute Shield Competition.

James Lau
Physiotherapist

James completed his Masters of Physiotherapy degree in 2013 at University of Sydney. He previously trained in Toronto receiving a Bachelor & Honours in Science specialising in Neuroscience and Health Studies. He has a passion for sports physiotherapy and as such has done extra studies in functional movement screening.

James' sports experience includes: 

  • West Harbour Pirates

  • Hakoah Football Club

He currently does some Saturday coverage for the Sydney Grammar School.

Sabah Chamoun
Physiotherapist

Sabah graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2022 with her passion for physiotherapy stemming from her background as an elite athlete. Sabah is an Australian Champion Olympic Weightlifter. She has and continues to represent Australia at multiple world championships and international events.

 

She has experience working with:

  • West Harbour Pirates Rugby 

 

She is currently one of the Team Physiotherapists for West Harbour in the Sydney Shute Shield Competition.

Margaret Michael
Massage Therapist

Margaret has been a remedial sports massage therapist since 2001. She specialises in treating chronic pain and providing therapeutic massage for general health and wellness.

  • State of Origin

  • South Sydney Rabbitohs

  • Melbourne Storm

  • Sydney Roosters

Debra Ainslie
Massage Therapist

Debra has been a remedial sports massage therapist for over 14 years. She prides herself on delivering an individualised and targeted massage to improve mobility / flexibility and to decrease pain

 

Deb has worked extensively in professional sport for:

  • Australian Rugby 7s (male & female squads)

  • Cricket Australia and Womens Big Bash League

  • Referee's in Tri-Nation Rugby

  • Olympic and Commonwealth Games Athletes (Rowing / Decathlon / Track & Field / Water Polo)
